The documentary film entitled «The travelling seed»

A documentary film entitled «The travelling seed» was created as part of the project LIFE+ PINUS LIFE07 NAT/GR/000286 entitled “Restoration of Pinus nigra forests on Mount Parnonas (GR2520006) through a structured approach”.

The film is about black pine forests and their values and aims to present the structured approach that was applied after the fire for the first time in Greece in mount Panron and to illustrate how we can get from the collection of seedlings to the plantation of young plants, in other words “the travelling seed”.

The film targets:

• the general public in order to learn about the value of this relatively common species in Greece and about the work and the time it is required for a scientifically sound restoration process to be completed, of burned forests in general and of black pine in particular.

• professors as a documentary film about the black pine and the design and implementation of a scientifically sound restoration process of burned forests in general and of that of black pine in particular.

• specialists who can use it as a summary of the structured approach that is developed so that they can get acquainted with it, evaluate and apply it.

The project LIFE+ NATURE LIFE07 NAT/GR/000286 entitled “Restoration of Pinus nigra forests on Mount Parnonas (GR2520006) through a structured approach” is implemented by the Goulandris Natural History Museum/Greek Biotope - Wetland Centre in cooperation with the Decentralised Administration of the Peloponnese - Western Greece & Ionian Sea, the Decentralised Administration of Macedonia - Thrace and the Management Body of Mount Parnon and Moustos Wetland. The project is co-funded by the General Directorate for the Development and Protection of Forests and Natural Environment - Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, the beneficiary and partners.
